Hallam Hope: Oldham Athletic midfielder 'seriously injured' after assault outside Boundary Park

Hope was left with serious injuries after being brutally attacked outside of Boundary Park.

There was an incident in the staff car park on Saturday.

A club statement said that the 28-year-old would be out for some weeks.

According to the Latics, the matter had been reported to the police and they had provided the footage of the incident.

"The club is supporting Hallam and will continue to do so. We wish him a speedy recovery from a dreadful experience," an Oldham Athletic statement said.

No further comment will be made on the incident.

Hope played the entire game on Saturday.

He remained with the club after they were demoted from League Two last season and has three goals in seven league appearances this season.
