The Women's Super League season starts this weekend and there are just three days left until the transfer window closes.

There have been a lot of things happening this summer but who are the players to watch out for?

Some of the new stars could make a big impact in their first season in the WSL.

Kadeisha Buchanan

Joined a team from another country.

A serial winner and classy centre-back have been signed by the Blues. Buchanan said European glory was her main purpose when she moved in June.

The former Ballon d'Or nominee made more appearances for Lyon than any other player. She played 76 minutes in the win against Barcelona that secured the eighth title for the French team.

Buchanan will be the first player in a long time to wear the number 26 shirt.

Buchanan shone during a narrow defeat by Lyon in a friendly tournament in August and was praised by her manager.

It's an amazing player. She will become the best defender in the world if she works hard.

Mary Fowler

They joined Manchester City from Montpellier.

The Australia Professional Football Association's Young Women's Footballer of the Year could have followed in her siblings' footsteps and represented the Republic of Ireland at youth level.

She made her international debut at the age of 15 and has scored seven goals in 24 appearances. The European game suits her best, despite scoring on her W-League bow.

Fowler said she likes to play football with players who are good on the ball, playing nice through balls and one-twos.

"I like this style, that's the word that sums me up," she said.

I like to be the one who starts the attack and not the one who stops it.

Fowler made an impact at the Olympics last year, but her new City team-mates are unlikely to want to see her again. She scored the winning goal for Australia in the extra time of the Great Britain game.

Fowler was about to make her mark in Europe after growing up in the Netherlands.

He scored five times in 15 appearances as Montpellier finished fifth in the French top flight.

Lucia Garcia

Joined the Manchester United team.

She found the net on 28 occasions in her final two seasons in the Primera Division, becoming known for staying on defenders' shoulders and making perceptive runs to grab chances.

The Manchester United manager said that she was electric.

I think our fans will engage with her.

As part of an eye-catching display in the group stage, she showed the cutting edge she can bring by scoring a headed goal in Spain's 4-1 win over Finland.

Skinner's side finished fourth in the WSL last season.

Adding her ability to invade lines at the right time is a good thing.

Lina Hurtig

Joined the team from Italy.

The player won two league titles, two Italian Super Cup and one Coppa Italia after joining the Bianconeri.

According to reports in Sweden, the English club paid a six-figure sum for the player.

She's most comfortable on the left flank, sending in crosses and scoring goals.

"I've always wanted to play in England, I joined the team because of that," said the Swedish player.

She knows the manager of the English club from when they were both in the top flight in Sweden.

Hurtig said that he's willing to do whatever it takes to improve as much as he can for the team.

Hurtig lost her starting place after Sweden's second group game and came on as a late substitute in the semi-finals, as England beat her side in the final.

Peter Gerhardsson said that he didn't get the most out of a player who has scored 19 times in 58 appearances for her country.

Laia Aleixandri

Joined Manchester City from another Spanish team.

The 21-year-old, who is an adventurous centre-back or defensiveMidfielder, helped former club Atleti knock new club Man City out of the competition in consecutive seasons.

The new number four is a player who joined the academy at the age of 12.

When her three-year deal was announced, she said the club has a similar philosophy to the way she likes to play.

Atleti's captain and one of the departing players received a guard of honour and a ceremony on the pitch when the men's side played their last game of the season at the Wanda Metropolitano.

She made her debut at the age of 14 and scored on her senior bow four years later, four years after winning the Under 17 Euro title.

She entered as a substitute in the 70th minute of Spain's match against England in the Women's Euro quarter-finals.

Eve Perisset

It was joined by Chelsea from Bordeaux.

When Perisset joined the Blues on a three-year deal from Bordeaux in June, she was praised for her mentality and tenacity, and those qualities were obvious when she faced one of the most high-pressure moments of the Euros.

France and the Netherlands played out a goalless draw in the quarter-finals, but in the extra time, it was France who took the lead from the penalty spot and went on to win.

The regular is a versatile player who can play either full-back or further forward.

She has won titles with Lyon and Paris Saint-Germain, as well as representing France at the World Cup.

The WSL was decided by a point last season and that motivated me to come here.

It's certain that master tactician Hayes will be attracted to Perisset'sVersatility as she tries to get her team into the knockout stage of the European competition.
