WarnerMedia has officially revealed the slate of content arriving on its streaming platform HBO Max, Variety reports, and it does not disappoint.
Of course, the network is bringing back its biggest shows, so soon you'll be able to watch Game of Thrones, Westworld, Sopranos, and various other TV gems to your hearts content. There's also a lot of original movie and show content, including the just-announced Thrones spinoff series, House of the Dragons.
In order to get you fully prepped for the new streaming platform, we've gathered all the essential information we can find about HBO Max.
HBO Max is slated to launch next year in May 2020.
HBO Max is launching with a $14.99 per month price tag. That's the same price as HBO Now. If you're already subscribed to the latter, or to HBO through AT&T, HBO Max will be free.
The platform will include a lot of previously released HBO content - Game of Thrones, Sex and the City, Sopranos, Deadwood, Westworld, Watchmen, etc, will all be on there.
In terms of new shows, these are some of the ones we're most excited about: Stephen King's The Outsider, Jordan Peele-produced Lovecraft Country, and an adaptation of Phillip Roth's The Plot Against The Country. There's a new Phoebe Waller-Bridge show called Run, a Monica Lewinsky-helmed documentary about public shaming titled 15 Minutes of Shame, a voguing competition called Legendary, an Anthony Bourdain doc, and much more.
Yes. HBO Max will be stacked with a lot of licensed content, too. Expect gems like Friends, The West Wing, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, South Park, Rick and Morty, the entire Studio Ghibli library, and much more.
