Gary missed Gilberto's practice swing as he walked back to the bench. There is a time and a place.
Gary was feeling lucky after he almost suffered a serious injury.
A full swing by teammate Gilberto Celestino almost hit him in the head, as the Twins beat the White Socks.
The incident took place when Chicago brought in Graveman to face the pitcher. The pitcher almost hit him in the on-deck circle as he headed back to the bench.
The man missed the face of the person.
"I had a few minutes to ask a few questions about that pitcher," he said. I didn't notice he was swinging until I returned to the bench and saw his bat on his shoulder.
After the bat hit the ground, Celestino leaned back and looked at his face.
"Thank God, nothing happened, he almost hit me, but I'm thankful," he said. It's not a big deal. It's alright.
