Hasan, who was born in England and became a US citizen in 2020, said that no former president of the US has ever been charged with a criminal offense. It is not normal elsewhere in the world. All over the world, former leaders are being prosecuted and imprisoned. He cited Israel's corruption trial for its former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, France's three-year prison sentence for its former President Nicolas Sarkozy, and the history of prosecuting its former presidents on corruption charges, among others.
