A video posted on Sunday evening appears to show part of an amusement park ride in India crashing to the ground.

The ride broke at a fair in the Indian state of Punjab. The broadcast reported that it malfunctioned on Sunday night.

The attraction featured a tower with a platform spinning as it ascended it. The ride plummeted when it reached the top.

A reporter for TV9 wrote that 16 women and children were hospitalized after the incident.

The 50 foot tall attraction had about 50 people on it. There were no deaths reported as of Sunday evening.

Several children as young as 10 years old were being treated at a hospital near a fair according to a report.

There were no ambulances on stand-by at the fair according to several outlets.

The organizers of the fair blamed a technical issue for the accident.

Authorities would launch an investigation and take strict action according to the outlet. According to police, the fair was supposed to end on Sunday, but was given an extension until September 11.

The deputy commissioner's office did not reply immediately.
