The Rangers designated left-handed pitcher Dallas Keuchel for assignment prior to the finale of their series against Boston.
In 14 combined starts this season, he is 2-9 with a 9.20 average, and he has been with five different teams.
Keuchel felt he pitched better than the line read. It felt like I was making pitches and they were fighting like the classic Red Sox game. This year is what I established. The goal is to put up some zeroes.
The Rangers signed Keuchel as a free agent on July 26.
John King was recalled to the roster from Round Rock.
