According to Jim Salisbury of NBC Sports Philadelphia, Nick Castellanos was put on the injured list with an oblique injury.

The 30-year-old had a career year in 2021.

The veteran outfielder earned his first All-Star Game appearance after being deemed good enough. He got a five-year contract with the Phils.

There were injuries. Castellanos broke his wrist when he was hit by a pitch last year. He was put on the 10-day injured list by the Reds.

He told reporters that the lesson was what it was. You cannot control everything. The situation I'm in is similar. I can't do anything else besides focus on doing everything I can to feel better.

He will need to embrace it again as he recovers from this latest blow.

The loss of Castellanos is a big one for the Phils, as he is hitting.265 with 13 homers and 61 runs scored.
