SEC fans think that the upset of Week 1 in college football was not really a big deal. In his first game as the head coach of Florida, he defeated Utah in a contest of physical strength that featured six lead changes and a tie.
After Anthony Richardson punched it in from the 1-yard line with 1:45 left, Cam Rising led the Utahs as far as the Florida 6 before he was picked off in the endzone to seal the game.
SEC fans weren't the only ones celebrating this week, as every school won. There are a lot of gimmes early in the year, but no one was supposed to be them.
A 49-point dismemberment of the Ducks by Georgia left nothing but a puffed up feather. Bo Nix left the conference because he wanted to play for Oregon. He had 173 yards on the ground and two picks. If you want to know how bad things were for the team, Nix led the way with 37 yards on the ground. He finished with 368 in the air, two by air and one-and-a-half by land, despite not making it to the fourth. You get half a rushing score if you use your legs like this.
Like the Dawgs, the Razorbacks brought last year's momentum and quarterback to the game as they beat the Bearcats with four total touchdown. In the third quarter, he lost the ball.
I am not going to talk about Alabama because they beat Utah State. Young tied Tua Tagovailoa's school record for most touchdown in a game by scoring six in his first game.
The game is in the Super Dome, and the FSU team is trying to dig out from a deeper hole than the LSU team. While the season is young, take LSU - 3.5.
The sharps can't make that line high enough if you're looking for other non- conference games to wager on.
With Utah and Oregon losing, USC could very well be the top ranked program in the conference. I don't know if I'm ready. The other schools who are constantly trying to return their football programs to former glory, but they already look like their old powerhouse selves, may be because I have seen an elite USC team more recently.
It doesn't help when you give the two players 18 points off three pick-sixes.
