Thomas Markle asked why he and Meghan Markle can't reconcile after she said 'forgiveness is really important'

After she spoke about the importance of forgiveness, Thomas questioned why they hadn't reconciled.

The Mail on Sunday newspaper reported on comments made by Thomas Markle.

"Why can't she forgive me if she really believes in forgiveness?" asked Thomas.

He apologized to her many times for the hurt and pain he may have caused. I adore my daughter. Why don't she start with her own family? Is it possible to forgive me.

When she said she lost her dad in a conversation with her husband about tabloid culture, her father seemed to take issue with that.

She said that Harry said that he lost his father in the process. It does not have to be the same for them as it was for me.

Thomas responded to the comment by saying that he was not lost. She knows where I'm located. My number is still the same. I would love to hear from my daughter and meet my family for the first time.

It's not clear if reconciliation is on the cards for the Markles, as their estrangement dates back to before the royal wedding, which Thomas did not attend.

During her interview with Oprah Winfrey, the duchess said that her father had lied to her before the wedding, even after she offered to help him kill the story.
