A human can see features in the atmosphere of Jupiter in the same colors they see on Earth.

The image was taken on July 5, 2022, during the 43rd close flyby of Jupiter. When the image was taken, it was at a distance of 3,300 miles from the top of the gas giant.

Jnsson created two images from the data. On the left hand side, there is a view that looks like a human observer in the picture. The intricate structure of the planet's atmosphere could be seen in the image on the right.

There is a new photo of Jupiter's moons Io and Europa.

The three-dimensional nature of the powerful storms that swirl in the planet's clouds can be seen in the enhanced image. There are bright "pop-up" clouds in the sky. There is a region at a latitude of 50 degrees north.

In the last two years, the gas giant has been explored by Juno. The probe completes one lap every 43 days as it circles the planet. The gas giant's cloud cover is about 3,100 miles above the ground.

The work will continue until at least 25 years from now. Citizen scientists can use the images to explore, process and categorize. The Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio built the instrument and the images can be found on the website.
