There is a chance that the new MacBook Pro models with M2 Pro and M2 Max will be released later this year, according to Mark Gurman.

Gurman said in his "Power On" newsletter that Apple plans to release the new MacBook Pro models as early as this fall, but that there is a chance they will be delayed due to supply chain disruptions. The notebooks will be mass produced in the fourth quarter.

According to some reports, the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips may be Apple's first 3nanometer chips, but it looks like they will stay 5nanometers. The chips would still have performance improvements over the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips in the current 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.

Compared to their M1 equivalents, the M2 Pro and M2 Max chips have increased core counts and RAM.

The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro were launched with an all-new design in October 2021. The return of ports like MagSafe and HDMI was one of the highlights of the new design.

A new Mac mini with an M2 Pro chip is rumored to be released this year along with a new Mac Pro tower.
