Kyogo celebrates his hat-trick - his second for Celtic

The record-breaking away league victory by Celtic was followed by their return to the top of the league.

United's worst ever home defeat was inflicted by a side that scored nine goals for the first time in a year.

Jota, Josip Juranovic and Carl Starfelt also scored for the visitors.

Celtic are two points clear of Rangers at the top of the league, while Jack Ross' side have lost five on the spin to sit in the bottom half of the table.

It took Celtic 15 minutes to score their first goal. Abada split the home defence with a through ball, finding Jota.

After producing a few fine saves, CarljohanEriksson's afternoon would only get worse. The second goal was the pick of the bunch, Kyogo curling in a first-timer from 25 yards into the top corner.

The third was created by Matt O'Riley and Abada, and Kyogo was able to score his hat-trick.

In the first half, there was time for a fourth. Jota may have been in the wrong.

If only for 15 minutes the half-time whistle would have been sweeter for United. Abada got his first after Celtic cut their hosts open again. The fifth was added by O'Riley when Jota found him.

The sixth was really funny. Celtic's free-kick routine resulted in O'Riley drilling the ball into a crouched Reo Hatate, but the ball came back to Josip Juranovic off his team-mate and he drove into the bottom corner.

Hatate set up the next goal in a deliberate way. Celtic ran through a gaping United defence for the second time, with Abada finishing with ease.

After getting onto the end of Daizen Maeda's cross, the Israeli scored his third goal of the game.

Not content with eight, defender Starfeldt got in on the act, nodding in a corner to break a record which has stood for 34 years.

Unstoppable Celtic batter bruised United in record-shattering victory - analysis

When Celtic are at their best, it's hard to stop them. He may have been trying to sell his team.

The United defence looked shell-shocked as they conceded eight goals in an hour of football.

The build up play as Celtic crept towards the box was almost menacing.

They were unstoppable. After Kilmarnock were eviscerated, United was told this is what Celtic can do. They didn't listen to what they were told.

There were twenty one goals in the games. There is a record for a league season.
