Facebook does not have a "shadow banning" policy, but it does have mistakes.

The Meta CEO talked about topics from the metaverse to his views on the FBI in an interview with Joe Rogan.

Rogan wanted to know if "shadow banning" happened on social media platforms. "There's no policy that is'shadow banning', so I think it's sort of a joke," he said. That may refer to some of the demotions that we're discussing.

There are posts that are marked as false or harmful. They include interference in politics, terrorism, child pornography, and intellectual property violations.

It will get less shown if a post is marked as false. There can be a broader policy that applies if there is some history within a page.

"Unfortunately, there are a lot of mistake, and part of the issue is that there's 3.5 billion people using these services, and if we make a mistake 1% of the time, there's still millions of mistakes," he said.

He blamed a bug in the system or something else for the posts being banned. It is not an ideological issue.

Some posts did not reach a large audience because they were not very good.

The ethos of the company is to empower people. We have to run them back whenever we mess that up because people don't like it and we have to pay for it.

According to Forbes, he is worth $58 billion.

The company changed its name to Meta last year. It also owns a number of social networking sites.
