According to federal prosecutors, the Trump campaign turned down an offer to buy a diary that belonged to Joe Biden's daughter.
The Justice Department said on Thursday that two Florida residents pleaded guilty to stealing and selling the diary of Biden.
The diary was discovered by Harris when she stayed at a friend's place in Florida in 2020. Harris told Robert that they could make a lot of money by selling it and other items of Biden's that were found.
According to prosecutors, the pair tried to sell the diary to the campaign of Donald Trump, who was in a bitter reelection fight against Joe Biden. The diary was turned over to the FBI by a representative for the Trump campaign.
According to the court filing, the Trump campaign wanted it to go to the FBI. Trump can't use this. It needs to be done differently.
The diary was sold to Project Veritas for $20,000.
The diary's actions were protected by the First Amendment, according to Project Veritas. The group didn't publish the diary.
