One of the first decisions you need to make is whether to buy a flat or curved display for your gaming monitor. The advantages and disadvantages of the two formats are often not the same. A new monitor from Corsair would seem to offer both the best and worst of the two worlds.
The company announced the Xeneon Flex 45WQHD240, a monitor that can be bent to switch between a flat panel and a curved screen. The prototype has a pair of handles on its sides that can be adjusted to a maximum of 800R. There is no reason for you to adjust the sides on your own.
When it comes to buying a flat or curved monitor, the conventional wisdom is that the former is better suited for daily use and productivity tasks while the latter is ideal for gaming. It will be interesting to see how long the 45WQHD240 will last. The screen protectors on the foldable phones have a crease where you bend them open. No one wants to see the kind of flaws in a monitor that will cost a lot of money.
The 45WQHD240 will be a more than capable gaming monitor according to its other specifications. The 21:9 ultrawide panel has a 240hertz refresh rate, 0.03ms gray-to-gray response time and 99 percent DCI-P3 coverage. It can reach 1,000 nits of brightness. It won't support VESA mounting, but the included stand has lots of ports.
There is no release date or price tag for the Xeneon Flex 45WQHD 240. It will cost a lot when it arrives. More details will be shared later this year.
