  • Steve Bannon's time in the White House was the subject of a conversation between the show's host and the son-in-law of President Donald Trump.

  • "Bannon was a great partner on the campaign trail, but he got too power-hungry."

  • He likened the man to a suicide bomber who was about to blow himself up.

The son-in-law of Donald Trump said Friday that former White House strategist Steve Bannon was like a suicide bomber.

In August of last year, Steve Bannon left the White House after months of power struggles with other advisers.

On the "Hugh Hewitt Show" on Friday, Kushner said that he was a great partner on the campaign trail, but that he got too power-hungry in the White House.

"Maybe the power got to his head a little bit, or he just - it was being more of what he was."

He said that it became very divisive when it was done. It wasn't helping us implement the agenda that he was undermining us.

He said that Steve defeated himself. He blew up like a suicide bomber because his head got so large.

While promoting his new book, "Breaking History," a memoir of his time in the White House, Kushner commented about his former boss.

He defended his father-in-law over the FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago. He denied that he was an FBI confidential source in relation to the Justice Department investigation.

He said earlier this week that he kept his body in shape because he might one day be immortality.

The War Room host was found guilty of criminal contempt of Congress for refusing to cooperate with the House committee investigating the January 6 insurrection. On October 21, he will be sentenced.

The lawyer did not respond to the request for comment.
