The SLS is close to being ready for liftoff. The launch marks NASA's return to crewed missions to the moon after a decade of waiting. While there won't be any astronauts on board during this launch, it will be a test for the future goal of putting the first woman and the first person of color on the moon.

During its first launch, the SLS will propel NASA's Orion capsule into space, where it will embark on a voyage around the Moon that could take up to 42 days. The 322-foot rocket was rolled to launch pad 39B at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

When you can watch the rocket lift off into space is up to you.

When is NASA’s Artemis I launch?

The SLS rocket is going to be launched on August 29th. It will have a launch time of two hours. If there are no delays, the rocket could take off at any time between 8:33 AM and 10:33 AM.

How do I watch the Artemis I launch live?

NASA is broadcasting the launch from its website, YouTube channel, and the NASA app if you can't make it to the launch. The launch is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 27th.

There are a number of ways to follow along on the mission. The Artemis Real-time Orbit Website (AROW) will allow people to track the mission as it happens.
