Oli McBurnie
Oli McBurnie's goal for Sheffield United was his first in any competition for 11 months

Despite Oli McBurnie ending a 43 league appearance without a goal, the Blades had to settle for a point against the Hatters.

Carlton Morris' second strike in as many games for the Hatters gave them a 2-0 lead.

McBurnie scored his first league goal in over a year after the break to give the Blades a point.

Wes Foderingham had to go off in the 78th minute, with Jordan Amissah sent on for his senior debut, and he did well to tip over an added-time effort by sub CAMERON JEO

The result left the Blades two points clear of their nearest rivals, while the Hatters are 17th with six points.

In their first five games of the season, the side produced 31 shots on target, more than any other side in the division, but they failed to test Horvath in the first half.

Their best moment was when James McAtee found Oliver Norwood with a corner and he showed tremendous technique with his 20-yard volley, but it hit the back of the net.

They had already fallen behind as a long throw by Bell was knocked back to him and Morris rose at the near post to meet his whipped-in cross and head into the corner.

The best United could muster was a first-time flick wide of the post by McBurnie, who had a chance to double the lead but volleyed over.

The travelling Blades support were out of their seats in the second half as they watched as McBurnie rifled home from a corner, which resulted in him getting a yellow card.

A curling effort from just outside the box was inches too high for the Blades as they looked for a second, while Adebayo's headed effort from a good delivery flew narrowly over for the visitors.

The home side have failed to win any of their last six games against United.

Nathan Jones told the radio station.

They have good players for the level. We were outstanding in the first half and had to be aggressive against them.

They had to defend for their lives and I thought we deserved to win the game.

We're very disappointed with their goal because of the poor build-up, but that can happen."

They'll be there or there abouts. We're the top two points-takers in the Championship table and tonight showed why.

The boss of the club told the radio station.

All their threats came how we thought they'd come and we stood up to it.

In the first half we passed the ball well, but in the second we were a bit more aggressive and higher up the pitch."

We gave him an extra few weeks in pre-season and he is fit and capable of performing like that.

We'll get him away from the other players and hopefully he'll be okay in 24 hours.
