Jimmy Garoppolo is not likely to be traded before Week 1.
According to Ian Rapoport, a trade partner for the San Francisco 49ers in a deal to move the veteran quarterback doesn't exist. The franchise will have to make a decision on whether or not to cut him.
The final year of Garoppolo's contract will see him make $26.9 million. The 49ers will save $24.9 million against the salary cap and $2 million in dead cap if they cut him.
Most of the quarterback-needy teams have already turned to other players despite the fact that the 30-year-old has been included in trade rumors.
Baker Mayfield won the team's starting job after being acquired by the Carolinas. The Atlanta Falcons, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Mitchell Trubisky all signed rookies.
With Drew Lock and Geno Smith at quarterback, the Seattle Seahawks could be an option in the future. The franchise is still interested in Garoppolo, according to an interview with an executive from the National Football League.
