The Border Patrol says one of its agents saved an infant and a toddler who were left alone by migrant traffickers.

An agent was sent to locate the children after a migrant in a group of border crossers was arrested.

An 18-month-old was found crying and a 4-month-old was found lifeless. They were released from Border Patrol custody after receiving medical attention.

Tucson Sector Border Patrol Chief John Modlin said in a statement that the children were left in the desert to die. This is more than just another example of migrant exploitation. It is cruel.

Some people were arrested, but it was not clear if the people were responsible for abandoning the children. The identities of the children's parents or guardian were not released by authorities.
