The partnership between Adidas and the San Diego Padres was ended after Fernando Tatis Jr. was suspended for 80 games for testing positive for a performance enhancer.

Sport should be fair, that's what we think. An Adidas spokesman confirmed that the company's partnership with Fernando Tatis Jr. will not continue.

He was the cover athlete for MLB The Show 21 and had appeared in commercials for a number of companies.

It's not clear if Gatorade wants to end its partnership with the company. It is not clear if he will be appearing in commercials for any brand in the near future.

Last week, he was given an 80 game suspension after testing positive for ClosteBol. He will be suspended for the rest of the season, including the playoffs, and the start of the next season.

The two-time Silver Slugger said in a statement that he didn't know he was taking a drug.

I accidentally took a medication to treat ringworm. I should have used the resources available to me to make sure that I didn't take banned substances. I couldn't do that.

The entire Padres organization, my teammates, Major League Baseball and fans all received an apology from me. I don't have an excuse for my mistake and I wouldn't do anything to disrespect this game.

According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the Padres are "unlikely" to challenge the 14-year, $340 million contract signed by Fernando Tatis. According to Heyman, the franchise still has faith in him and the belief in him as a player was the main reason why he didn't contest his contract.

Though he hadn't appeared in a single game for the Padres this season, he was recently on a rehab assignment with one of San Diego's minor league affiliates after recovering from wrist surgery.

Ha-Seong Kim has been used at the position with the absence of Tatis. The Padres have a second place record in the National League West and are in third place in the NL.
