The Spotlight feature on the iPad and the iPhone helps you find what you're looking for by searching through apps, files, and the web. Every iteration of the operating system, Spotlight Search is improved.
Everything that's new with Spotlight is highlighted in this guide.
If you want to access the Spotlight Search feature, you have to go down from the Home Screen to bring up the search interface.
The "Search" option can be found at the bottom of the Home Screen and you can enter it. The search button replaces the dots that were there before to let you know how many pages you have.
There is an option to turn off the button in the home screen of the settings app.
Spotlight can find locations, people, scenes, text, pets, objects, and more in images from Messages, Notes, and files.
Quick Actions are functions that can be done directly from the search interface.
There are a number of options.
It is possible to find the Shortcuts that are in any app.
When giving up apps that you might want to use, Apple has updated its suggestions. The suggestions in Spotlight are more relevant to what you are doing at the moment.
It's possible to suggest directions when you have a meeting or check your flight status when you're flying. It can suggest that you call someone having a birthday, show your favorite apps at certain times of the day, or bring up your recent searches so you can get back to previous results more quickly.
Spotlight will be able to start a Live Activity when Apple launches Live Activities in the future. You can keep an eye on things happening right from the Lock Screen with Live Activities.
If you're watching a sports game, for example, you can see the updated score on the Lock Screen, or if you're waiting for a ride, you can watch for your driver.
Live Activities won't be available when the new version of the app is released.
When you search for an actor's name in Apple's rich search results, you'll see data on him. Additional information will be shown in the feature for businesses and sports teams.
App Clips allow you to use limited app features without having to install a full version. When you're in a relevant location, Spotlight will suggest App clips to you.
Apple uses precise location suggestions to improve App Clip suggestions in Spotlight, but location-based suggestions can be disabled in the privacy section of the settings app.
