The price of the flagship console is being raised by only one company.

The Nintendo and Microsoft statements to Eurogamer confirm that the Switch and Xbox Series consoles won't get price hikes like the PS5 did in all major markets outside the U.S.

The two statements differed in how they arrived at that conclusion. The prices of the Xbox Series S and X will not change, according to Microsoft. Nintendo said it has no plans to raise the trade price of its hardware. The Nintendo Switch is priced at $200.

Microsoft and Nintendo have dealt with supply problems as well as market difficulties during the economic downturn. Sony was the only company that was willing to raise the price of the console before the holiday season.

It will be interesting to see if that comes back to bite Sony or if Microsoft and Nintendo can use the relative value increase they just got to their advantage.
