The Friday release of a heavily redacted affidavit used to secure a search warrant for Trump's Mar-a-Lago home was greeted by the former president with anger, misdirection and lies.

The judge who signed the affidavit was criticized by Trump in a post on Truth Social.

There may have been some mention of nuclear weapons in the redacted portions of the document, but he claimed there was no mention of "nuclear."

The affidavit was heavily redacted. The man wrote. A total public relations subterfuge by the FBI and DOJ, as well as our close working relationship regarding document turnover, were not mentioned on 'Nuclear.'

The judge should never have allowed the break-in. He withdrew from one of my cases due to his dislike of me. What did you see change? He shouldn't be involved in this case. Right now, Obama must be very proud of him.

There have been death threats against the judge who approved the search warrant.

Trump's lawyers didn't make any legal moves to release the affidavit despite publicly calling for it to be released.

Trump's legal team would have a hard time defending the allegations contained in the affidavit.

Adding more heft and more substance to what we already know about Trump stealing these documents is pretty damning. They didn't ask for it because they knew that if the whole thing were released, it would contain a damning narrative.

It has been almost three weeks since the search began, and Trump's legal team has failed to articulate a cogent defense for the former president.

An earlier version of the story stated that Bruce Reinhart was appointed by the president. The president isn't the one who appoints the magistrate judges.
