The Roman ruins in Spain were revealed when water levels dropped.

The ancient Romans built a military camp in northwestern Spain in about 75 AD, according to a study. The camp was abandoned a century ago.

After the construction of a dam in 1949, the ruins became submerged.

Rome was the result of all the dry spells this summer.

The entire ruined complex of the ancient camp reappeared on the river bank.

A collection of neatly organized stone structures are shown in aerial photographs. The smaller structures are surrounded by what is left of a wall. The partially collapsed entrance welcomed the river that lies just beyond its doorway.

The rock walls are waist-high with pillar bases adorning them. The archway is still standing despite the wear and tear of time and water. The ruins are adorned with greenery.

The Aquis Querquennis were thrown under water. The full complex emerged as water levels in the As Conchas reservoir fell.
