When she got her first head coaching job, she did not have to wait long.

In her first season with the team, the coach was named the league's coach of the year.

For the third year in a row, the Aces earned the top seed in the Western Conference. They will face the Seattle Storm in the conference semifinals.

Out of 56 first-place votes, he got 27. The Chicago Sky's James Wade received eight first-place selections and the Atlanta Dream's Tanisha Wright received 18 first-place votes.

He was hired as the head coach and general manager of the team in December. Retaining Las Vegas' talent-laden roster was the main focus of her efforts.

Young earned her first All-Star berth and won the most improved player award. Young and Plum were named to the All-Star team along with A'ja Wilson and Hamby.

She was an assistant coach for the NBA's San Antonio Spurs until she was hired in Las Vegas. She would be the first woman to coach an NBA team.
