Rodgers isn't leaving his position as the Green Bay Packers' starting quarterback anytime soon, but he's been impressed with Love's progress.

Rodgers called Love a "master" of the Packers offense after seeing him in Thursday's preseason finale.

On the Packers' TV broadcast, Rodgers talked about the little things. Understanding the offense is what the reads are for. He has become a master of the offense. There are a lot of little things that will help him level up, like arm angles on run action, his keeper fakes, his hard-action fakes, and his run solutions. That is what I enjoy watching.

Love hasn't looked the part in his limited NFL action. He was overwhelmed in a Week 9 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and he opened his preseason with three picks against the San Francisco 49ers.

While the jury is still out on whether Love is a viable starter, he has shown more decisiveness with his passes and an increased comfort in the offensive system.

There was a lot of good things. I always look at the numbers at the end of the film to see if it makes sense. He did a lot of great things. The tape will be looked at by us. You can always clean up.

Both Rodgers and LaFleur are comfortable with being backups for the Packers. It's hard to imagine the Packers picking up their fifth-year option on Love next year.

The decision to draft him caused a lot of headaches, so the team probably wouldn't have made it.
