As it reopens order banks for the 2023 model year, Ford is increasing the starting price of its electric mustang mach-e by more than $8,000.

Significant material cost increases, continued strain on key supply chains, and rapidly evolving market conditions are some of the reasons for the company's high prices.

The cost of raw material for batteries for electric vehicles more than doubled during the coronaviruses epidemic, which is why the price of the Mach-E is increasing.

The starting price for the 2023 mustang mach-e will range from $47,000 to $70,000, up from $44,000 to $62,000. Taxes and shipping/ delivery costs are not included in prices.

The starting price of the electric F-150 Lightning pickup was raised by between $6,000 and $8,500. The increases were related to the raw materials used in the batteries for the cars.

The prices on their newest electric vehicles were raised by others.

Ford said it changed options for some Mach-E models. The shipping charges for the Mach-E are going to go up by hundreds of dollars.

The higher prices will go into effect when order banks reopen on Tuesday.

Customers with existing, unscheduled 2022, model-year orders will be offered a private offer to convert to a 2023 model-year vehicle. Customers would be offered a price.
