During a campaign stop in Maryland, US President Joe Biden offered a more pointed critique of the group.
"What we're seeing now is either the beginning or the death knell of an extremeMAGA philosophy," Biden said at the party reception, according to The Washington Post.
He said that it's not just Trump but the entire philosophy that underpins it.
Much of his agenda in the next two years will be determined by the control of the House of Representatives and the Senate in the upcoming midterm elections.
He continued to talk about "MAGA Republicans" at the rally.
Biden said that the Republicans don't just threaten personal rights. They are a danger to our democracy. They reject the will of the people. Political violence is embraced by them. They don't think in terms of democracy.
He made overtures to Democrats, independents, and mainstream Republicans after going after Trump's influence.
A bipartisan gun control bill was one of the accomplishments of Biden's administration.
The RNC called Biden's speech despicable.
