The long-term future of Mike Gesicki with the Miami Dolphins may be uncertain after they placed the franchise tag on him, but he will not be moved ahead of the 2022, according to a report.
The Dolphins haven't been shopping him, according to Albert Breer. He is being developed as a blocker.
During the preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders, Gesicki played longer than most of the other players. Doug Kyed reported his name was brought up during trade discussions after the game.
Mike McDaniel, the head coach of the Dolphins, denied the rumors.
He told reporters that the report is kind of misleading because there are a lot of names on it.
He said that he liked coaching Mike and that it was his job to coach the players. It's a process of asking if someone talked about someone else. It happens more often than not.
