'Star Trek' Icon Nichelle Nichols' Ashes Going to Deep Space on Vulcan Rocket

It's an incredibly fitting mission for Nichelle to go back to space with her crew mates.

The ashes of Lieutenant Uhura, who passed away back in July, will be added to the rocket's cargo.

NASA's future Artemis flights to the moon will precede the delivery of a robotic lunar lander by the United Launch Alliance.

The remains of Gene Roddenberry, James Doohan, and Majel Roddenberry will be delivered into a graveyard around the sun.

"I'm sure she would have preferred to go on the shuttle, but this was a pretty close second," Kyle Johnson said.
