The electric-car company is threatening a lawsuit over the ads that criticize the Full Self Driving feature.

The Dawn Project, led by software developer and entrepreneur Dan O'Dowd, says it received a cease and desist letter from lawyers from the electric car maker, threatening legal action over the group's ad that began airing on August 9. The group bought more air time to run the ad nationwide.

Some of Musk's fans have tried to reproduce the Dawn Project test that they believe was rigged, using actual children, after Musk mocked O'Dowd on social media. Musk and the company didn't respond to questions. The test driver for The Dawn Project swore an affidavit that he didn't touch any controls while in the car. Video footage of the tests shows multiple instances of a car failing to stop for a mannequin and running it over.

Neither Musk norTesla responded to questions.

O'dowd said that a competent self-driving engineering team would disabling Full Self-Driving in all 100,000Tesla cars until the company proves that it won't run down kids in school crosswalks. They should rerun The Dawn Project's tests and try other similar things to determine the full extent of the danger. The bugs should be fixed by the entire team.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is investigating the safety of the semi-automated driving software used by the company. The Full Self Driving feature is not actually an autopilot system, but rather a driver assist feature, which is problematic because of the name. The company said this month that it will be hiking the price of the product to $15,000 even though it is not fully functional.

When utilized properly, the system reacts to prevent or mitigate a collision, according to the letter.

Within hours of you publicly making defamatory allegations, Eskin said that the testing is likely fraudulent.

Within 24 hours of receipt of the letter, O'Dowd was asked to remove the "Test Track" videos from websites and to issue a public apology.

It wants to know if the testing methods and results were approved by the regulatory agencies.

In the event of your non-compliance with the above,Tesla will exercise all legal remedies available to it.

The Dawn Project called for more scrutiny of the software and asked the NHTSA to stop it.

One of the most dangerous and irresponsible actions by a car company in decades has been the deployment of full self-driving technology byTesla. The technology should never have been put in the cars. The NHTSA has been looking at Full Self-Driving technology for a long time. The NHTSA has the power to order the removal of the FSD technology from the cars.
