It surpasses the previous season's spending by clubs.
The total spending for the entire season is a new record for the premier league.

"Responsible and sustainable spending policies can't be overstated."
Fourteen players have been signed for reported fees of over 30 million dollars.
Eight players were signed for more than that amount.
The signing of Darwin Nunez from Benfica for up to £85m is the most expensive in the world.
Manchester United signed Casemiro from Real Madrid for £60m in a deal that could rise to £70m, City completed a move for Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund for £51.2m, and Spurs signed Richarlison.
Busy summer windows have contributed to that figure, as have several other teams.
If the add-ons are included in the deal, the fee could be as high as 48 million dollars.
In the final week of the season, the total spending could still increase as a number of deals are still being worked on.
The summer transfer window is closed. The sun goes down at 6p.m. On September 1st.
