Alexander Isak is set to become Newcastle United's record signing

Alexander Isak will be signing for a club record fee of about $60m.

The injury record of Callum Wilson, who is awaiting results of a hamstring Scan, would make the addition of the Sweden international even more important.

Isak has scored 44 goals for Sociedad and nine for his country.

The amount of money they paid forJoelinton was £40 million.

Hoffenheim signed a Brazilian player who became amidfielder.

The club paid £35m plus add-ons for Bruno Guimaraes last January but Isak's signing would be a significant change from the new owners.

Isak's signing would double the club's spending this summer to just short of 120m after already signing Matt Targett, Sven Botman and Nick Pope, and bring the total to around 200m since the new owners took over the club.
