The next-gen graphics card architecture will be announced by the company. Turing was the first to use the Ampere architecture, which is the current architecture of the Turing architecture. The company is expected to announce a new architecture at GTC in September, with CEO Jensen Huang possibly mentioning an announcement during the company's earnings call.
"We'll get through this over the next few months and go into next year with our new architecture." I'm going to tell you more about it at GTC.
The announcement of a new architecture doesn't mean we'll see the 40-series right away. The Ampere architecture for data centers was unveiled by the company. There is a slight delay between an architecture announcement and consumer launch. It doesn't necessarily mean we'll be waiting months with the new series.
Rumors continue to suggest that the company is working on a new generation of graphics cards. The monster RTX 4090 was rumored to be released in July, and it could offer a big performance boost over existing cards. Next-gen graphics cards will live alongside current-gen ones.
There's a chance that the 40- and 30-series will co-exist. It is currently being forced to adjust retail pricing due to excess inventory, and we have seen RTX 30 series cards appearing at MSRP recently. The excess inventory makes it hard to predict when the 40-series will be on shelves.
Jensen Huang will give the keynote at the GTC conference on September 20th at 8 AM. The next evolution of the Internet will be discussed at the GTC conference next month.
