The monthly subscription for Starlink has been reduced in response to market conditions.
I usually pay 124 a month for my Starlink RV service in the Netherlands, but I received a notification that it would cost less. The monthly service fee will be reduced from 105 to 105. Okay.
At a time when inflation is increasing, the price cut is a good thing. The announcement states that the price reduction factors in your local market conditions and is meant to reflect parity in purchasing power.
The situation in the US is less clear
Similar discounts are reported in locations around the world by others. A person in the UK reported a reduction in their monthly fee to £75 (down from £89), Mexico to $1,100 MXN (down from $2,299 MXN), and Germany to 80 (down from 100). Users in Brazil have reported a price cut of 50 percent. There is a spot check on Starlink's service pages in different countries.
The situation in the US is not as clear as it might seem. A person in Nevada reports getting a reduction to $85, but Starlink's own pages still show a monthly subscription price of $110. Some people claim to be from the US, but they haven't received a price reduction.
There is no mention of a reduction in speed or data caps.
T-Mobile and SpaceX will host a joint event later today where Musk will make an announcement. The event is not clear if it has anything to do with the new pricing.
