There are a lot of new features in the upcoming update of Apple's mobile operating system. Some of us heard that Apple made a change to some of the sounds of the phone, but we didn't know it at the time.
If you go to the Find My app and choose the play sound option, you will be greeted with an electronic xylophone, instead of the pinging sound that played on the previous versions. When you ask your Apple watch to ping your phone for you, the sound plays once instead of over and over. I will let you judge how it sounds for yourself, but one of my co-workers said it was easier to hear.
This sound is better than the old one. While my phone is dancing to the new sound while I search for a lost phone, the new sound seems fun and playful.
The new voice activated sound is something I don't like. While the classic two-note activation beep has been missing for a while, there is still a way to use it. The bong has been replaced with a softer one, which is less attention- grabbing. I like the sound of it, but I don't like the fact that it makes me second-guess my decisions when I'm on the road.
I think it's safe to assume you're interested in the sounds phones make to notify humans that something's happening if you've made it this far. If that is the case, you might want to check out our article about the history of the famous mobile phone ringtones.
