Trump called for a new Senate Republican leader.
The Democrats haveMitch McConnell and his lovely wife, Elaine 'Coco' Chao, over a barrel.
McConnell said last week that the GOP may have a hard time in Senate races.
"I think there's a better chance of the House flipping than the Senate," McConnell said last week.
On Wednesday, Trump accused McConnell of being a Democrat.
Mitch McConnell is a pawn for the Democrats and he is not an opposition leader. He's afraid of them and won't do anything about it. The Senate needs a new leader. "I said that."
It's not clear if Republicans in the Senate will listen to Trump's call to replace McConnell. The longest serving Republican leader in Senate history has been the Kentucky Senator.
Republican Congressional leadership has been removed by Trump before. In May of 2021, Liz Cheney was removed from her position as the number three Republican in the House. Cheney blamed Trump for the January 6 Capitol riot and didn't stop talking about it. After Trump praised her for embracing his campaign claims, she was replaced as House Republican Conference Chair.
Trump criticized McConnell for suggesting GOP Senate candidates were weak and said he should focus on helping them get elected.
After the Capitol riot, Chao stepped down as Trump's transportation secretary. The House Select Committee is looking into the January 6 attack.
McConnell and his family own a shipping company in China that moves goods to and from the area. A transportation department watchdog accused Chao of using resources from the agency to propel her family's business
McConnell and Chao will not be prosecuted because of their status as Senate Minority Leader, according to Trump.
McConnell supports a Trump candidacy for president in 2024 despite his trash talking.
McConnell did not reply immediately.
