The next mission by Blue Origin will not be a crewed affair.

The next flight of the New Shepard suborbital vehicle will take place on August 31st. New Shepard is best known for taking space tourists on brief trips to the final frontier, but they won't haul anyone aloft with just 36 payloads.

At 9:30 a.m., the rocket is scheduled to lift off. The West Texas site is near the town of Van Horn. Blue Origin will let you watch it here at Space.com when the time is right.

Jeff Bezos was the first New Shepard passenger.

"This mission brings the total number of commercial payloads flown on the vehicle to more than 150," Blue Origin wrote in a Wednesday update that contains detailed descriptions of some of the experiments.

The update says that two of the payloads will fly on the New Shepard booster. The Flight Opportunities program is the main source of funding for eighteen of the programs on this flight.

The 23rd space flight for New Shepard will be called NS-23. The New Shepard vehicle is dedicated to uncrewed missions. The most recent of Blue Origin's space tourist trips took place on August 4.

Six crewed suborbital missions have been flown by Blue Origin. In August of last year, the company's first uncrewed spaceflight took place.
