U.S. government employees in Mexico

There have been many reports of cars being carjacked and burned in Baja California.

Due to the limited emergency services in Mexico, U.S. government employees can't travel to certain areas. If there are employees in those parts of Mexico, they can't hail a cab or travel in the dark. Employees can only use authorized vehicles that are on the ride-sharing app. They are told not to travel alone.

Employees are not allowed to drive from the U.S.- Mexico border to the interior of the country. In Baja California, daytime travel is allowed on Mexican Federal Highway 15D, between Nogales and Hermosillo, and on Highway 85D.
