Now is the best time to apply for the Alaska Airlines Visa® Business card.

The Alaska Airlines Business Visa Card is the best publicly available offer we have seen on this card. It was introduced a few weeks ago, and I wanted to remind people of it, as it is unknown how long it will last.

Earn 70K Alaska miles plus a companion fare

The Alaska Business Visa Card is offering a bonus after spending $4,000 in the first 90 days of account opening.

  • 70,000 Alaska Mileage Plan miles
  • An Alaska companion fare from $121 ($99 fare plus taxes and fees from $22)

It's an amazing bonus. The mileage component of the bonus is 75% bigger than it was before. I think Alaska miles are worth 1.7 cents each, given all the great uses of the plan. The miles are worth over a thousand dollars to me. The Alaska companion fare is worth more than that.

Alaska Business Visa card eligibility

Eligibility and restrictions for the Alaska Business Visa Card are curiosities for many. There are a few things to keep in mind.

  • Among business cards, anecdotally I find Bank of America business cards to be quite easy to get approved for, assuming you have excellent credit
  • Anecdotally it seems that you’re eligible for the Alaska Business Visa (including the bonus) even if you’ve had it in the past; this is one of the best cards out there in that regard
  • Applying for a Bank of America business card typically won’t count toward the 5/24 limit with Chase, if that’s a consideration

Business cards are not as good as this in terms of approval and bonus eligibility.

Why the Alaska Business Visa Card is worth it

There are many reasons to get the Alaska Business Visa card. The card has a $50 annual fee for the company, and a $25 annual fee for the card, meaning one user can have the card for just $75 annually.

There is a companion certificate on your anniversary account every year, a free checked bag on Alaska Airlines for you and up to six guests on the same reservation, 20% back on Alaska Airlines inflight purchases, 3x Mileage Plan miles on Alaska Airlines purchases, and more.

The companion fare alone should be more than enough to justify the annual fee.

The Alaska companion fare is really valuable

Bottom line

A companion fare is included with the Alaska Business Visa Card. This is the biggest bonus I've ever seen on a card, and on top of that the card is easy to approve for. Those who have had the card in the past can still be. This is a good time to apply if you don't already have the card.
