  • Three air force officers were sacked by India.

  • India said that the accident was due to a technical malfunction.

  • The standard operating procedure was deviated by the three officers.

The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was accidentally fired into Pakistan in March.

The air force said that the accidental firing of the missile was caused by deviation from standard operating procedure by three officers.

The BrahMos missile has a range of 180 miles and a speed of Mach 3.

The Indian Ministry of Defence said on March 11 that a technical malfunction caused the missile to fire into Pakistan's Punjab province.

There were no injuries or deaths in the incident.

Pakistan had tracked the missile's flight and prepared for a strike, but held off when they realized something wasn't right, according to the report.

The Indian government said that it was an accident and called it deeply regrettable.

Since gaining independence from Britain in 1947, the two nations have been at odds with each other, and tensions have been heightened by recent border skirmishes over the territory of Kashmir.

Pakistan shot down an Indian warplane in the middle of the night in response to attacks on militant targets. India said it carried out the strikes in response to the suicide bombing.

According to Insider, a nuclear war between India and Pakistan could have devastating global consequences. There is a possibility that the Earth's temperature would go down by 5 degrees Celsius because of the amount of smoke particles in the air.
