According to Noah Schnapp, the "Stranger Things" directors weren't happy about the aging of their young cast.

The actor has been playing Will Byers on the show since he was ten years old. In an interview with Flaunt Magazine, Schnapp said that he went through puberty before Will.

"It was the peak time of change, and puberty and growing up and just everything was changing with all of us, and the directors were just not loving it."

The costars of Schnapp's show all started the show when they were young.

In the years since, they've aged past their characters, ranging from 17 to 20 in real life.

In an earlier season, a producer asked Schnapp if he could raise the pitch of his voice in order to keep the innocence of his character.

I didn't know what to say. My voice is not making a sound. "I don't sound like I'm old anymore."

In an interview with Flaunt, Schnapp said that the show serves as an archive of his work over the course of his adolescence.

It's crazy that that will live there forever, because I will be able to show that to my children.
