According to CNBC, each episode of House of the Dragon costs between 15 million and 20 million dollars to make. A lot is riding on the success of the show as it prepares for its merger with Discovery+. The House of the Dragon series was ordered by HBO a few months after the end of the Game of Throne.
The beginning of House Targaryen is followed by the beginning of House of the Dragon. The events that led up to the Targaryen war of succession will be shown in the show.
