Georgia police said five officers showed up at the house of a lawmaker after someone made a false call.

According to a report shared with CNBC, the city's police department said that the call was a hoax.

The police department is open at 1:04 a.m. The officers were told on their way to the house that they were going to. The congresswoman assured them there was no issue after they rang the doorbell.

A spokeswoman for the department told CNBC that the officers went to the house.

The suspect used a computer-generated voice to call the department again.

According to the police report, the suspect stated that they were trying to kill her by attacking her.

The department is working with the Capitol Police on the case. CNBC asked the Capitol Police if they would speak to them.

Last week, a far-right lawmaker introduced a bill that would make it a crime to provide gender-affirming care to children.

The congressman's safety is his top concern right now, according to his spokesman.

The victim of a political attack on her family and home was described as a "violent crime" by Dyer.
