According to The Washington Post, Donald Trump offered his top lawyer a job without ever meeting him.

A former federal prosecutor was hired by Trump. According to an unnamed source, Trump's job offer came after other lawyers refused to work for him.

The source told The Post that Corcoran got the job after Trump introduced him to the former president.

The person said there was no vetting done by the president. The president asked the man if he wanted to do the work and he said yes.

An investigation into whether the Trump Organization in New York violated finance laws is one of a number of legal challenges facing the president.

The Department of Justice is being sued by Trump over the FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago and investigations into his actions during the Capitol riot.

Insider asked for comment from representatives for Trump and Corcoran.

It's not clear if Trump knew of the man before he hired him.

The former Trump aide was tried last month for disobeying a subpoena. He was found guilty of contempt.

The former federal prosecutor Jim Trusty is one of Trump's lawyers.

On Monday, Trump's legal team filed a lawsuit in order to stop the Department of Justice from reading any of the seized materials.

The team knew that the FBI was looking for missing documents that were supposed to be submitted to the National Archives and Records Administration. The attorney's request to delay the FBI investigation was shown in a May 10 letter from the NARA.

The Post reported last week that Trump was having a hard time finding a lawyer. The former president is an impossible client, according to several unnamed lawyers.

The report was denied by Trump last week.
