The rookies in the NFL are posing a challenge to the oddsmakers. If George Pickens is named the offensive rookies of the year, most sportsbooks will lose money.

There were positive reports from training camp and a touchdown catch in the preseason opener. His odds began at 50-1 but moved to 9-1 or 10-1 by the end of the day.

Chris Bennett explained why Pickens is now the favorite after opening at such large odds.

I don't think he's going to win, so I don't have him at the shortest odds. Bennett said that he wanted to write bets on other guys to lower the liability of the team.

He is the biggest liability for the house, according to most of the sports books.

John Murray is the executive director of Superbook. It doesn't appear to be a great offensive rookies class. When you don't have a high-profile quarterback at the top of the draft, it's setting up to be more open than usual.

This year is different due to that. He was the 52nd pick in the second round and the 10th wide receiver. Bettors have noticed that Pittsburgh is ready to feature him now.

It's not a talent issue, he was a five star recruit. He's just as good as the other wide receiver who was one-third the price. There was no quarterback taken in the top 15 picks.

The first team to take a quarterback in this year's draft was the Pittsburgh Steelers. Since 1997, there have been at least four first-round QBs drafted. He is one of the top two betting favorites to win the offensive rookies of the year award. According to head coach Mike Tomlin, Pickett has a chance to win the starting job.

The rookies of the year are looked at first. Is there any quarterback that will play a lot? "That's what it comes down to," Avello said. Avello shared that DraftKings has the biggest liability with 20% of the handle and 40-1 odds.

Booking these awards is new. Nevada gaming legalized Super Bowl betting in 2016 and gradually books have been able to post lower-profile index like offensive rookies of the year.

Bennett said it's hard to do both well at the same time of year, but he's mostly responsible for football futures. I can't keep up with where the awards odds should be.

Four years in a row, a top six pick has won this award. He was the fifth running back taken overall but he won it as a third-round pick. Over the past two decades, there have only been three offensive rookies who have won the award.

There will likely be some drastic odds changes once we see these players on the field, according to Adam Pullen, assistant director of trading at Caesars Sportsbook.

sportsbooks cater to bettors and offer an extensive menu in order to compete with other operators That can make them vulnerable.

It's a lot to keep up with as we spread ourselves out. You have to cash that ticket even though you will find weak spots. Avello said you have to win the bet to get value.

The two rookies who opened at 100-1 odds are currently in the neighborhood of 20. Running back Brian Robinson Jr. is expected to be the starting running back for the Houston Texans, and wideout Romeo Doubs is expected to be heavily featured in the Green Bay Packers offense.
