The letter that Donald Trump claimed showed a political plot against him was released.

His celebration in a series of posts on his Truth Social network was seized on by legal experts because it made clear the extent of alarm within the government at his holding secret documents in Mar-a-Lago.

In May, a letter from the National Archivist was sent to Evan Corcoran.

Material at the highest levels of classification was one of the items returned to the government by Trump.

The letter made clear the large number of documents taken and their secrecy, and Wall said that on realising what happened officials started an urgent review of the potential damage.

The letter was posted online Tuesday by John Solomon, a journalist connected to Trump, who said that President Joe Biden asked the FBI to review the material returned by Trump.

He deferred the decision to the Department of Justice and the National Archives. Solomon and Trump held the letter up as proof of a political plot because they thought it was an example of Biden staying away.

The White House said that they didn't know anything about the break-in of Mar-a-Lago and that they were not involved in it.

There is no evidence that the White House was aware of the August 8 search of Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort.

Solomon's publication of the letter backfired, according to Bradley P. Moss.

He asked ifjsolomon reports realized how bad the letter was for Trump.

The records at Mar-a-Lago were classified, as well as the records at the Special Access program. Our most sensitive secrets are those. The people were sitting in a basement.

The release was both a self-inflicted wound and further proof of how the government has been playing by the rules.
