An official at Dinosaur Valley State Park said Tuesday that a river in the park was dried up due to a lack of rain.
Three-toed footprints can be seen in the photos posted on Facebook. It is one of the longest dinosaur tracks in the world.
The tracks were visible due to the dry weather.
She said that the river dried up completely in most locations, allowing for more tracks to be found in the park.
Under normal river conditions, the newer tracks are submerged and often filled with silt, which makes them buried and not as visible.
The tracks that were recently revealed were made by Acrocanthosaurus, which weighed over 6 tons and was 15 feet tall.
Sauroposeidon left footprints in the park. In adulthood, it weighed 44 tons.
Dinosaur footprints were found in the mud at the state park, which was once on the edge of an ancient ocean.
The tracks will likely be covered once more due to the rain in the forecast.
Dinosaur Valley State Park will continue to protect these 113 million-year-old tracks not only for present, but future generations.
